Meet Our Facilitator: Nitai Aleksiewicz

Psilocybin facilitator in a serene Pacific Northwest setting

At Meadow Medicine, our facilitators are the heart of the therapeutic experience. In this spotlight, we sit down with Nitai Aleksiewicz to learn about his path to psilocybin facilitation and what drives his commitment to this work.

The Path to Facilitation

Becoming a psilocybin facilitator in Oregon requires a minimum of 160 hours of state-approved training covering pharmacology, psychology, ethics, harm reduction, and hands-on practicum. But for Nitai, the preparation went far beyond the requirements.

His journey into this field grew from a deep personal connection to the healing potential of expanded states of consciousness and a desire to hold space for others going through their own transformative experiences.

What Makes a Great Facilitator

A psilocybin facilitator's job is unlike any other role in healthcare. You're not diagnosing, prescribing, or directing. You're holding space — being fully present with another human being during one of the most vulnerable and meaningful experiences of their life.

The qualities that matter most aren't found on a resume:

  • Presence: The ability to be fully there without imposing your own agenda or interpretation
  • Emotional range: Comfort with the full spectrum of human emotion — grief, ecstasy, terror, tenderness — without flinching or fixing
  • Trust in the process: Believing that the person in front of you has their own inner healing intelligence, and your job is to support it, not replace it
  • Clinical awareness: Recognizing when something needs attention — physical discomfort, emotional overwhelm, or simply a glass of water

The Meadow Difference

What sets Meadow's facilitation team apart is the physician-led framework they operate within. Every facilitator works under the clinical oversight of Dr. Tracy Townsend, who reviews health intakes and is available for consultation on complex cases. This means facilitators can focus entirely on being present with their clients, knowing the medical safety net is in place.

If you're curious about working with Nitai or any of our facilitators, a discovery call is the first step. We'll match you with the right person for your journey.
